- ?c=email
- ?c=linkedin
- ?c=client-proposal
One file. One link per place you send it.
Why bother
One link everywhere gives one number and no idea which message worked. A tracked link per channel splits it, without changing anything your reader sees.
One link everywhere
Source unknown. No way to tell which channel worked.
Three tracked links
Same file, same 42 opens. Now you know where.
How to make one
- Open your file's analytics page. Create tracked link is the first card on it.
- Pick where you are sharing it, or choose Custom… to name it yourself.
- Copy the link and send it. Opens appear under Tracked link performance as they happen.
A worked example
A designer sends the same proposal three ways.
| Tracked link | Opens | Downloads | Different people |
|---|---|---|---|
| email-vp-product | 9 | 2 | 1 |
| inmail-marketing-lead | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| portfolio-job-board | 41 | 1 | 39 |
- Job board. 41 opens from 39 people, 1 download. Wide, shallow, nobody kept it.
- Marketing lead. Never opened it.
- Email to the VP. 9 opens, 2 downloads. One person, repeatedly.
She knows exactly who to call. One shared link would have shown "50 opens" and nothing else.
Different people is part of Snapy Pro. Opens and downloads are counted for every link, free or Pro.

Questions
Can the person I send it to see the label?
Yes. The label is part of the link you hand out, as in ?c=linkedin: it shows in their address bar, it travels if they forward the link, and it can be passed to other websites when they click something on the page. Keep labels boring, such as linkedin, march-newsletter or acme, and never one you would not want the recipient to read.
If I replace the file, do all my tracked links update?
Yes. The link, password and expiry stay the same, every tracked link serves the new file, and the figures you already collected survive. Replacing a file is part of Snapy Pro.
Does the file look any different to the person opening it?
No. The label only tells Snapy which link was used, and it never changes the file or the page around it.
