What is Snapy?
Snapy turns a document into a tracked link. You drop a file, and you get a link to share. For documents and images you verify your email address once, and that is what makes the link live, and you get your link. Hosting a web page needs a free account with a verified email.
Is Snapy free?
Yes. Uploading a file and getting a shareable link is free, and you verify your email once. The free plan covers one live link at a time, with as many files on that link as you like; deleting a link frees the slot, and an expired link frees its own. Snapy Pro adds more links at once, and shows who opened them. Hosting a web page is free as well, but needs an account with a verified email.
Do I need an account?
One email, once. Documents and images go live as soon as you verify your email address. Hosting a web page needs a free account with a verified email. An account also adds a dashboard to see and manage the links you have created.
What is the difference between snapy.host and snapy.page?
snapy.host is the main site (this one). Your uploaded files and pages are served on snapy.page links, like my-file.snapy.page.
Files and limits
What file types can I share?
PDFs, images (PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP, HEIC), HTML pages, documents, presentations, text, audio, and zips. Files that commonly carry malware, like executables and macro-enabled office files, are blocked for safety.
What is the upload limit?
Up to 150MB per file. There is also a fair-use limit on uploads per device in a short window, which normal use stays well within.
Can I host an HTML page or a whole static site?
Yes. Drop a single .html file, or zip a folder with index.html at the root to serve a full static site (including a React or Next.js export) on one clean link.
Can I share a PDF so it opens in the browser?
Yes. Upload the PDF and share the link. It opens right in the browser, with no download step.
Can I share more than one file at once?
Yes. Share a bundle of files, or zip them into one upload and share a single link. A bundle is one link however many files are in it, so it counts once against the free plan's one live link.
Can I upload a video?
No. Snapy is for documents, images and pages. For video, a dedicated video host is a better fit.
Links and features
How long does a link stay live?
Links stay live by default, so you can keep sharing them. You can also set an expiry when you want one to stop working after a while.
Can I set a link to expire?
Yes. Set an expiry at upload time and the link stops working after the chosen period.
Can I password-protect a link?
Yes. Add a password at upload, and only people with it can open the link.
Can I track how many people opened my link?
Yes. Every upload has a private analytics link showing views and downloads. Only someone with that link can see the stats.
Can I delete a link?
Yes. Delete it from your dashboard if you are signed in, or send a deletion request from the link's page.
Can I replace the file behind a link?
Yes, with Snapy Pro. Upload a new version and keep the same link, so you never have to resend it.
Can I add a custom name?
Yes. Choose a clean name like proposal.snapy.page. If it is taken, Snapy asks you to pick another so links never clash.
Can I get a QR code for my link?
Yes. Turn any link into a QR code for posters, slides, or print.
Privacy and developers
Will my files show up in Google search?
Snapy does not list or index your uploads, so they are not added to search results by Snapy. Anyone with the link can open it, so add a password for anything private.
Can an AI tool or script publish to Snapy?
Yes. Snapy has a free publish API and an MCP server, so assistants like Claude and ChatGPT, or a Python or JavaScript script, can publish a page or file and get a link back. See the developer docs.
